餐厅点餐

这一篇按从进门到出门的顺序，拆成五个细化场景：等位点单、席间催菜、分账与小费、带朋友吃美式早餐、上错菜怎么处理。

美国餐厅和中国餐厅最大的差别不是语言，是流程。 你进门不能自己找位子，要站在门口等带位员（host / hostess）；坐下后服务员会先自我介绍、先问喝什么，而不是直接让你点菜；吃到一半会不断有人来问 How's everything?；最后账单不会主动送来，要自己开口要 check。

小费是这一篇里最容易出错、也最不能省的一环。 美国服务员的工资里小费占大头，堂食给小费不是"礼貌"而是默认：一般 18%–20%，服务特别好 25%，服务差也别低于 15%。快餐、咖啡外带、自助餐不用给。

另外两条要记住：**免费续杯（free refills）**在美式餐厅很常见，汽水、冰茶、咖啡都能一直续；**打包（to-go box）**也是常规操作，吃不完要盒子完全正常。

1. How's everything? 不是真的在征求意见。

服务员每隔一会儿就来问一次，标准回答是 Great, thanks.。除非真有问题，否则不要展开讲——想投诉要另外起话头。

2. 催菜不要用 “You forgot” 开头。

You forgot my order 会让服务员立刻进入防御姿态。说 I think our order might have gotten lost 或 My friend's dish hasn't come out yet——把问题归给"订单"而不是"人"。

3. in a hurry 是最好用的催菜理由。

它把"你们的错"转成"我们的客观情况"，服务员不会觉得被指责，反而会主动加快。

4. box up 和 to-go box。

打包说 Could you box this up?，打包盒叫 to-go box 或 doggy bag。服务员常主动问 Would you like a box for that?

1. 账单叫 check，不叫 bill。

Bill 在美国多指水电费、电话费这类账单。餐厅里说 the bill 虽然能听懂，但一听就是外国人。

2. 服务员不会催你走。

美国餐厅翻台压力小，你可以坐很久聊天。但占桌时间越长，小费越该给足，因为服务员的收入主要靠小费。

3. 刷卡时机器会显示小费选项。

常见是 18% / 20% / 25% / Custom / No tip。选完还要在收据上签名。现金付款就把钱夹在账单本里放桌上，不用等服务员来收。

2. I'm good 是礼貌拒绝。

服务员问 More coffee?，你不想喝就说 I'm good, thanks. 不要用 No，太硬。

3. I'm stuffed 是"我吃饱了"的地道说法。

比 I'm full 更生动，字面是"被塞满了"。

4. 经典美式早餐项。

口语小注

1. no mayo 这类要求要说得早、说得清。

点单时就说，别等端上来再说。标准说法：no mayo / no onions / extra cheese / on the side。

2. on me 和 on us 是"我来付"。

TABLE for TWO——重音在后，表示信息重点。念成平调会显得没精神。

3. Could we get the check? 里的 could 要弱读。
