Good morning, Mr. Chen.It was a pleasure meeting you.
Hi, how's it going?Nice talking to you. / Have a good one.
Hey, what's up?Later. / See ya. / Catch you later.

另一个高频事故点是 How are you?

Hi, Sarah. / Morning, Mike.Hello, Manager Wang
教授Professor Smith(姓)Teacher Smith(绝对不行)
医生Dr. LeeDoctor(单独叫有点怪)
Excuse me, sir / ma'am.Hey, you

Thank you for your time,对朋友说 I've got an early thing tomorrow——同样是走,说法完全不同。

Marcus(同组同事) You(新入职)

Marcus: Hey, you must be the new hire. I’m Marcus.

You: Hi Marcus, I’m Wei. Nice to meet you.

Marcus: Nice to meet you too. Welcome aboard. How’s your first day going?

You: Pretty good so far. A little overwhelming, honestly.

Marcus: Yeah, first week’s always like that. You’ll get the hang of it.

You: I hope so. Everyone’s been really helpful, though.

Marcus: Good, good. Hey, a bunch of us grab lunch around noon. You should come.

You: I’d like that. Thanks for inviting me.

Marcus: No problem. I’ll swing by your desk around twelve.

You: Sounds good. See you then.

Marcus: Ready to go?

You: Yeah, let me just grab my jacket.

Marcus: So how are you finding the team so far?

You: Everyone’s been patient with me. My English is still a work in progress.

Marcus: Dude, you’re doing fine. Half the team’s not native speakers either.

You: That actually makes me feel better.

Marcus: See? You fit right in. Oh — after lunch I’ll walk you through the deploy process.

You: That’d be great. Thanks, Marcus.

Marcus: Anytime. Alright, let’s eat.

You must be the new hire.
I’m Marcus.
Nice to meet you.
Welcome aboard.
How’s your first day going?
A little overwhelming.
You’ll get the hang of it. get the hang of = 上手
A bunch of us grab lunch around noon.
I’ll swing by your desk.
How are you finding the team?
My English is still a work in progress.
You fit right in. fit in = 融入
Anytime.

1. 第一次见面只有一次机会用 Nice to meet you。

第二次要用 Good to see you 或者 Nice to see you again。

2. Dude

3. Welcome aboard

A little overwhelming, honestly. But everyone's been really helpful.

Jenny(老朋友,五年没见) You(开完会转机)

Jenny: Wait — Wei? Is that you?

You: Jenny! Oh my God, hi!

💬 你: Jenny!

Jenny: No way! What are you doing here?

You: I’m flying back from a conference. What about you?

Jenny: Picking up my sister. Wow, it’s been forever. How long has it been?

You: Five years? Since you left Shanghai?

Jenny: That long? That’s crazy. You look great, by the way.

You: Thanks, you too. How have you been?

Jenny: Good, busy. Two kids now, so — you know how it is.

You: Wow, two! Congratulations. That’s wonderful.

Jenny: Thanks. Hey, do you have time for a coffee? My sister’s flight is delayed.

You: I’ve got about an hour before my gate closes. Let’s do it.

Jenny: Perfect. There’s a place right around the corner.

You: Lead the way.

Jenny: I’m so glad we ran into each other. Let’s not wait another five years.

You: Agreed. I’ll message you on WeChat — same number?

Jenny: Same one. Okay, I gotta run — her flight just landed.

You: Go, go. It was so good to see you.

Jenny: You too. Safe travels!

You: Thanks. Take care!

Is that you?
No way!
What are you doing here?
It’s been forever. 比 Long time no see 更常用
How long has it been?
You look great.
How have you been?
You know how it is.
Let’s do it.
We ran into each other. run into = 偶遇
I gotta run.
Safe travels.
Take care.

1. How have you been?

How are you? 是打招呼,How have you been?

Oh my God!、No way!,声音大是正常的,不丢人。

4. We should catch up sometime

Are you free for lunch next week?

Dana(前台) Helen Park(客户方项目经理,初次见面) You(代表公司接待)

Dana: Hi, welcome in. How can I help you?

You: Hi, I’m Wei Chen. I have a ten o’clock with Helen Park.

Dana: Let me let her know you’re here. Can I get you anything? Water, coffee?

You: Water would be great, thanks.

Helen: Wei? Hi, I’m Helen Park. Nice to meet you.

You: Nice to meet you too, Ms. Park. Thanks for having me.

Helen: Oh, please — Helen’s fine. Did you find the place okay?

You: I did. The directions your assistant sent were really clear.

Helen: Great. Sorry to keep you waiting — my last call ran over.

You: No problem at all. I was early anyway.

Helen: Let’s head to the conference room. Can I get you anything before we start?

You: I’m all set, thanks.

Helen: Well, this was really productive. Thanks for walking us through it.

You: Thank you for your time. I’ll send over the revised numbers by Thursday.

Helen: Perfect. If anything comes up, just email me directly.

You: Will do. It was a pleasure meeting you, Helen.

Helen: Same here. Let me walk you out.

You: That’s kind of you, thanks.

Helen: Take care. And say hi to your team for me.

You: I will. Have a good one.

I have a ten o’clock with…
Thanks for having me.
Please — Helen’s fine.
Did you find the place okay?
Sorry to keep you waiting.
Let’s head to the conference room. head to = 前往
I’m all set.
Thanks for walking us through it. walk through = 逐条讲
Thank you for your time.
I’ll send over… by Thursday.
Let me walk you out.
It was a pleasure meeting you.
Say hi to your team for me.

Thank you for your time. I'll send over the numbers by Thursday. It was a pleasure meeting you.

3. I'm all set

I'm good, thanks.

Take care.)。

Jenny(朋友,主人) Marcus(另一个客人) You(第二天要早起)

You: Hey Jenny, I think I’m gonna head out.

Jenny: Already? You just got here.

You: I know, I know. I’ve got an early thing tomorrow.

Jenny: Fair enough. Thanks for coming, seriously.

You: Thanks for having me. The food was amazing, by the way.

Jenny: Oh, it was nothing. Marcus brought the dessert.

Marcus: I did. And I’m taking full credit for it.

You: Ha! It was really good. Okay — Marcus, good seeing you, man.

Marcus: You too. Later!

Jenny: Wait, do you want some of this to take home? I made way too much.

You: Are you sure?

Jenny: Totally. Hold on, let me grab a container.

You: You’re the best. Thanks.

Jenny: Okay, here. Careful, it’s still warm.

You: Got it. Thanks again for everything.

Jenny: Anytime. Text me when you get home, okay?

You: Will do. Night!

Jenny: Night! Get home safe.

Marcus: See ya, Wei.

You: See ya.

I think I’m gonna head out.
Already?
I’ve got an early thing tomorrow.
Fair enough.
Thanks for having me.
It was nothing.
I’m taking full credit for it.
Good seeing you.
Do you want some to take home?
Let me grab a container.
You’re the best.
Text me when you get home.
Get home safe.
Night!

I'm gonna head out 后面一定要跟一句理由(early thing tomorrow / long drive / the babysitter)。

3. Thanks for having me 是做客后的固定句。

Thank you for your invitation(太书面),也不要只说 Thank you(太轻)。

4. Night!

1. What's up?

What's up? 是问候,回答是 Not much(没什么)或者 Same old(老样子),然后反问 You?。

2. How do you do?

只在极正式的商务场合偶尔听到,回答也是 How do you do?(不是 I'm fine)。日常别用,用 Nice to meet you 就好。

3. Long time no see 是合法英语。

See you / Take care / Have a good one 更自然。
